Under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Crop Insurance Scheme, the Tamil Nadu government pays the entire insurance premium on behalf of eligible farmers, extending crop-loss protection against natural calamities, pests and disease without any premium cost to the farmer. Coverage is aligned with notified crops and areas each season, and payouts follow the same yield/loss-assessment methodology used in national crop insurance schemes.
