Krishi Bhagya Scheme
A Karnataka scheme that subsidises farm ponds, polyhouses, drip irrigation and diesel/solar pump sets to help rain-fed farmers conserve water and reduce the impact of drought on their crops.
ഈ പദ്ധതിയെക്കുറിച്ച്
Krishi Bhagya helps farmers in Karnataka's rain-fed (dryland) areas build water-harvesting structures such as farm ponds, and adopt water-efficient practices like drip irrigation and polyhouse cultivation. The scheme subsidises the cost of pond-lining sheets (up to 80%), drip irrigation equipment (up to 90%), and diesel or solar pump sets used to lift stored water — with higher subsidies when groups of farmers pool resources. The goal is to help farmers recharge groundwater, store rainwater for critical irrigation during dry spells, and diversify into horticulture.
